Does anyone know of a aftermarket head gasket that is of high quality and is for a 54mm bore and it must be the thick paper style. This would be for a xr50 motor. I am running a ton of cyclinder pressure and keep blowing the head gasket........

thanks

yea i have one in my just recently rebuilt engine and it fn leaks a tiny bit but i have to tear it down again anyway so i am going to go back to the paper fibre gaskets after i take 1.2mm of the bottom of the cyclinder. hey Justin i put on that inner rotor and lighten up the oil sling and WOW this fn thing revs up like a 2 stroke, the acceleration has tripled after the rotor install, i do recomend you try it (i know we were talking about it at the track) and it works great on bigger cc engines as well.

The trick with copper head gaskets is to heat it with a propane flame untill it changes color pretty good. The copper will expand slightly so when you torque it, it will crush a little agian. I've done this many times and never had a leak, you just gotta be carefull not to heat it up like crazy and warp or melt it. Hope this helps ya out.

That is the way to do it, I have used the DRatv copper gaskets many a times. Also, stop in at yout local Napa auto parts and they have a spray for copper head gaskets that helps as well.

i have the stock one that came with my 124+R kit its used but only for a hour or so it a 3 piece one and its thick as hell it mite help you to drop down your compression a little im pretty sure it would seal good again. i put the super thin one on my 124 to gain a little comp.
