I came across a Kehein PWK28 carb with the Power Now divider in it. I am putting this on a GPX 124 with a HC piston and Takegawa race cam. Has anyone tried this? Does anyone have any ideas on an intake?

yeah i have.... i didnt have a cam when i did it and i ran ok down low... but up top it ran like shit... too much fuel and the engine couldnt burn it fast enough... the best results i had were with a 105 main and a ummmm... i forgot what size pilot jet cant remember... just jet it way down and it should rip with that cam and high comp piston

Bah, Power Now == Funked up carb, toss it.

Also, a 28mm carb on a motor with a 23mm intake, kinda overkill. I'd go down to a 24mm flatslide myself.

I do not have access to the 24mm flatslide, this 28mm is a d-slide and the price was great on it so I would like to use it. How about an intake that tapers from 28mm down to 24mm? Would that not increase velocity as it tapers?

About the Power Now, isn't the purpose to act like a smaller carb until after half throttle? With this being a larger carb, I thought that it would lose some bottom, and this would solve that issue?

Anyone else with time on a carb this big for your fiddy based bike? While I appreciate the advice, please no more comments of just buying a 24mm carb. I have this 28 already, and just want to hear from those with knowledge of it.

Thanks.

Since you already have it anyway just throw it on there and see if it runs good. Spend some time tuning it. If you cant get it then take it off, sell it and buy a 24mm carb.

I really wouldnt mind trying a 28mm on my 124 SE but i have the 26mm tuned good so i wont bother but if i had a 28mm laying around i would try it with out any second thoughts.

oh sorry u need to know about that intake. dratv carries a 28 to 25mm intake. 28 at the carb. its comes with the adapter to hook the carb to it also. sucks though cause its like 99 bucks. works out to like 30 for the adapter (cause he sells this seperate) and 70 for the intake. if you can get ahold of a 26mm intake u might be able to bore it out to 28 ate the carb. i doubt that will just bolt up to the rubber carb adpter, it has the hole in the center. the intakes for the keihin style carbs have an offset hole. but if you can get ahold of a piece of aluminum and if u have some drills and taps u can make it work.
