Well, my steering stem bearings were shot on my klx110. I read on the forum people have a hard time removing the lower race. I got the top one out, but many people explained how the 2010 version is different cause the race is flush with the inner frame neck. Of course I have to have that year lol. I've tried a flat head and hammer but it dosn't wanna budge. Any suggestions?

I just removed mine... Dremel tool with a cutoff wheel. Cut at about a 35 degree angle.

Has anyone used that removal tool? I have a hard time believing that will catch the lip considering the inner frame tube has a smaller inner diameter.

I have removed many, many steering head bearings. The 110L is one of the worst. There is only about 1mm of lip for that tool to catch on which the angle from the neck tube to the race is so sharp, it won't happen with that tool.

But that's just my 2cents.

Anybody else have any luck with this? I did one today by using a Dremel to cut a notch in the race but there has to be a better (easier, quicker) way

i have the park tool and for this application it will not work. It won't catch because of the angle the neck is at. Also you can't get flat head on there so the largest hammer in the world won't work. The 2010 frames are different than the 02-09 to accept the larger bearing.

I believe they are talking about the bearing race, in the steering stem neck, not the bearing on the lower triple clamp.
Correct.

I did see that people on other forums with the same issue but not on a klx 110 were saying run a bead in the center of the race the whole way around and then it will shrink the race when it cools and come out pretty easy. I don't have welding equipment though..

Edit. I'm stupid and didn't read the whole thing. Sorry.
