Talked to him yesterday and he was saying that the 190 is almost too much for the little ct which made me giggle like a school kid, I have always been a big fan of making things so powerful that they are boarder line ridiculous lmao.

He said he cant pin the throttle in first or second gear and the front tire starts lifting in third gear, fourth gear is so fast that now he's thinking about a steering stabilized LMAO!!!

Sprockets are 16 front and 31 rear.

I love it when a plan comes together.

I can tell you right off the back that you are geared too short with a 16/31. Seeing that the gear ratios are essentially the same internally on a YX motor for all intents and purposes, you need to get that thing about 18/29. When I had my GPX 177v2 motor in my ct70, I had it geared 18/29 with a 120/90 rear tire. Even that tall, a snap of the throttle brings the tire up in first, but not in second. This gearing allowed me to tackle massive elevation gains (like 2500 ft in 1.5 miles) on Virginia backroads, in 4th gear, at 55mph. If you think you need more than that, than you might just be a little crazy.

Based on my experience, I have to think that the 190 makes at least as much as my 177 did. Better gearing is also going to allow the bike to run at a much lower rpm range for a given speed. Seeing that you put this motor in there, I'm assuming you will primarily use this as a street bike and hence it will get long doses of sustained RPMs...so keeping that down in the 6000-6500 range is going to dramatically save on wear and tear.

I cannot tell if you have a disc brake on the front of that thing or not. If you are running stock brakes, you need to minimally upgrade to the kitaco anti-fade shoes to be safe. Also, if you haven't done so, the front forks should have the oil swapped out to 15wt (i like to use the harley synthetic here) and run 3/4-1" preload spacers on top of the springs. That will stiffen the front up a tad and it will remove some of the squirrelliness of it.

I'm running a 190 in a monkey on 12" rims and my gearing is 18/31 and I want to go longer, but can't!!! The 31t rear sprocket has "self clearanced" on the rim by chopping divets into the hub and obviously the 18 tooth front is the limit!!
