Picked this up for the girlfriends bike. Motor needed a top end so I have that set to the side (broken motor mount and rusty crank anyway) bolting in a 110 I rebuilt a bit ago to make it easy. Have a ton of stuff ordered and on the way. Working on painting (yes I know it won't hold up long) most of the frame and suspension components. Barely was able to pull the swing arm due to horribly worn bushings. Anybody know if crf50 bushings work?

Thinking of making my own engine cradle ( plan to hit some jumps 15 ft at the biggest) and don't want to pay out the 40$ and want to brace the frame. Suggestions on bracing? Cradle I'm sure I can figure something out once I get some metal in.

Runs 14/12 wheels which seems big to me for such a small bike. Rear wheel has a few broken spokes, will fix that eventually, and need to cut my own spacers. Have roughly 150 in parts and 80 to buy the bike. Few more bucks into it I should have a decent backyard beater

Definitely way too much neck rake, maybe the PO tweaked it and then tried to brace it with the gusset underneath the mainframe, by the neck(?) I don't think I'd want to do any jumping with that like it is...

bracing I did as I knew they bent easy, that's disappointing to hear. can see its stretched out a bit. hopefully when I get it done its good enough for some wheelies out across the yard, or to get the girlfriend used to clutch.

More parts in, still waiting on some. Threw it together just to see what she will look like. Have way to much money into the bike, but who doesn't love wrenching on minis?

All this time I should be trying to get the neighbors c102 running(electrical nightmare). Guess I'll get around to that eventually. He's had it sitting for 40 years so I guess a few more weeks won't hurt!

she finally lives! never fired the motor before since I rebuilt and was shocked she started in about 3 kicks. the PZ22 carb that's on it im having a hard time dialing in. What baseline settings(with air and idle screw) should I start with? bike will idle nice but when revved it stays up on rpm for a few seconds before coming down to idle.

Thinking im running a bit lean?

The first thing to do is to start the bike, and then spray contact or carb cleaner around the head/intake area and also around the intake/carb area, to check for air leaks. It doesn't hurt to use a light coating of grease on the gaskets and/or o-rings in this same area.

that is hopefully the issue. have a leak at intake manifold. have a small oil leak to address while I'm at it. have the black spacer with o ring in at facing the carb, maybe that's my problem? not sure how those are meant to go.
