The engine serial number is on the case right by the shifter shaft.

looks like TB03E-270879,

If so its a 82, lucky, first year of the 4 speeds.

and hex head engine bolts so no cammed out PH heads to drill out

Still looking guys. Was hoping to find something closer to michigan to keep shipping cost down or maybe get lucky enough to find just the trans or a parts motor to keep cost down. Thanks

There is a 1982 ATC bottom end ($100) on eBay and the guy is in Michigan. The 1982 has the four down trans. Just get a engine serial number to verify that it is an 1982.

Okay guys I found a bottom end a little cheaper. I need someone to confirm the numbers on it for me please. They are as follows: TBO3E 2918335. Is this the 4 speed I am looking for? Thanks guys

That engine number comes back as an '84 ATC70, which would be a 4-down shift pattern.
