Hi guys. I bought an eBay Lifan 125 motor for my scooter and I've been trying to dial it in and get it to run properly. I've got it the best I can at this point. I t runs well when I'm on the gas but the idle is choppy and the bike will stall after a while as if its sucking in too much air from the air filter (pic below). Basically I'm not sure if its the sh**ty carb, the air filter, or the jetting thats causing this problem. Also FYI, the clip position is at the bottom most section of the needle, I'm not sure if that makes a difference. Let me know what you guys think this might be, or if you've run into similar problems and can offer any advice. Thanks !!!

Id put a bigger carb on it for sure......first things first id put the clip on the needle at the center and move up from there.second id adjust the mixture scre which would be the small gold flat head on the side of the carb all the way in then from there do 1/4 turns out until it gets better

I have a few 125 Lifans and some run better than others, carb issue.
clean the carb first even if it is new.
I have one that doesn't have an adjustable needle, I have to make a shim to barely move it.
I've never really had one that was bad at idle, need to adjust the mixture screw and idle.
Also check the plug, see if its running lean or rich at idle.
The carbs are hit or mis on these lifans, but I've seen some people buy another carb that gives fits also.
If you can find jets for yours, makes it cheaper to adjust to idle it in perfect.
or get a true mikuni or a mikuni knock off bust cost about $100.
What exhaust are you running?

The pic shows the idle screw if I'm seeing it right
