Mike at Honda trail Bikes is the best in the 50 buisness as far as Customer service. Actually I have yet to have a BAD experience with any fiddy companys...(been pretty lucky I guess) Just that Trail Bikes is exceptionaly good when it comes to taking care of their customers. When I recieved my race head there was a little bit of excessive casting flash on the inside..... No big deal would have worked fine ..... Just looked kinda wierd . Mike looked at 1 pic I sent to him and instantly shiped me out another one . He just asked that I send him back the other one when I could, so he could show it to his manufacturer, and he'd give me back the shipping fees. He paid my paypal account within 10 mins of sending him the info ....... Just wanted everyone to know how good his Customer service really is .....

Ticking noise comes from intake valve

I just put on my TB race head. Turning over the engine by hand produced a very sharp and loud SNAP sound. As I watched closely, I noticed that the intake valve would snap closed very hard. Part of the problem is the angle of the grind on the camshaft. I ended up setting the vavle clearance by "feel" rather than putting a gauge on it. It reduced the snapping to a barely noticeable ticking. The more I ride it, the more it is "breaking in" and have gone back in to adjust the valve clearance a couple of times to keep everything as close as possible.

from what i read on all the threads on PM about the TB kit is it just some predetination i think. people hav taken there motor apart and found no damage done. i think i goes away with high octane gas and also if u get the head it goes away. from what i hear..

the first piston was for the race head it had a huge dome.which was a big problem with my stock head. i took my motor apart and there are a couple marks on the larger of the 2 valves. nothing looking cracked or anything to the bare eye, i put everything back together and at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle it acts like its hiting the rev limiter it just dies out cuts out. does that sound like a bent valve. its getting fuel and running rich the timing is also good. any ideas anyone

- Does it idle on its own ?

- What type of ignition system do you have ?

- Are the wires going to your kill button ok ( not cuts on the wires outer casing ) ?

- How are all of the wire connections in the electrical system and are they clean ?

- Is the " larger valve " adjuster screw , screwed further down into the nut than it was before all of this stuff happened ?

- If the adjuster is screwed in alot more in relation to the other valve adjuster is on the other valve , then chances are you have a bent valve .
