So is it an actual Dax? I'm stilling waiting to hear back from the seller as to if it's a 4 speed manual or 3 speed auto and what the scoop is on the rest of the frame stickers. His pics suck.

I may as well weigh in here. I think what you have here is an actual dax, but some of the parts have been replaced with with non-euro pieces. The removable front end, is purely dax. That seat is also dax original. The brake pedal sticking way out is dax. That shifter is not. Those fenders could have been swapped as some daxes had a different look on the fenders.

The best way to tell, honestly, is to look at the vin#. ST = Dax, CT=, well a CT. Regardless, to me this is probably worth the investment at $600 or less if running or at least having good compression.

Well I looked at it, didn't make an offer as it needed more than I wanted to mess with.

The bike was in fact a real Dax and the VIN and engine serial number started with ST70. It had a tag on the right side of the frame with Japanese writing on it. The wiring harness was all kinds of hacked up and the head light was missing, head light bucket cracked(probably why the head light was missing), chain guard missing, kick stand was missing, head light switch was missing, license plate bracket missing, tail light missing and it had the incorrect shifter. I also couldn't even get the bike to roll, so either the transmission or rear axle was seized up though the bike did shift and in neutral it turned over but didn't want to start. The frame also had a couple dents in it.
