took the valve cover plate off to check my cam chain and noticed metal shavings in the oil, so I pulled the filter and drained the oil and it was worse then I thought..any ideas what it could be? its a 08 klx
i had two different places do it and it happened both timesguess your having the wrong people install your big bores haha , your gonna have alot of ppl burn ya on this ....
Sorry man...Calling BS ON THIS Way too many people running heavily built motors with excellent reliability results to make a statement like that. The least common denominator in this equation here is you or whomever built the motor. I have a decent sized back yard track and a private group that has at least six of us riding 143 equipped bikes, one with a 160 and mine with a stroked 155 and NONE of us have had issues with our motors. If you had issues with a BBK installed on a 110 it was caused by user error. No denying it. One of our riders even budgeted himself to run a no name manufactured 143 kit and its running just fine and hes going on season #3 with it.yes...
Is the issue you are having with the big bore kit itself or the output shaft? These are two different things/conversations....i had two different places do it and it happened both times
its not alot of $$ to fix unless you have to have someone do the work for you... its not that hard to split the cases and replaceyea mine smoked and metal shavings were in my oil then after a while the out put shaft snapped and it was lots of money to fix
agreed, well now that he states it doesnt shift in second obviously you found your problem.... Ive seen metal shavings from clutches, rebuilds, trannys, etc....
. Man i dont see why ur getting all butthurt and defending 110 big bores like ur in a relationship with them lol. I was just telling him what happened to mine and what the shops told me... They said the big bore kit made something happen causing the output shaft to wear down or sometghing i dont remember full detail it was a year agoSorry man...Calling BS ON THIS Way too many people running heavily built motors with excellent reliability results to make a statement like that. Wow - And you believed the shop that told you this? Hey - I got some land in Florida I will sell you cheap... The reason I am getting butthurt over your comment is because when a person such as the original poster asks a question here looking for honest input to find/fix his problem and some non mechanical ability having ass clown like you chimes in and makes an absolutely false statement it does not help the person trying to get their bike fixed in any way and it hurts the credibility of those posting here who have a clue as to what they KNOW...Not what some shop told them.. Ditto. Magnetic plug is a must. Cheap. 10.99 or less.Change it now and put magnetic drain plug start it and check is it chunks or small fibers from clutch plates
it was a bbr one my engine must have been junkklx110lova. The FIRST time, the output shaft should of been replaced with a stronger one, especially on the earlier klx110s.
Engine? Sounds like to me your pretty hard on motors...it was a bbr one my engine must have been junk
If you watch Alexthekid on YouTube. He shows you how to split the cases with out a case splitter.yeah in just gonna split the case and rebuild it, what case spliter should I get??
