About done with my latest bike that uses a kx65 rear end.. It's far enough where I got to ride it, and I'm so impressed with the linkage rear end. Best mini I've ever thrown my leg over. It's been revalved with the gold valve kit from race tech with a stiffer spring. Can't wait for the race in Stillwater this weekend!! Everyone one around Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas should come out to mini x.

I love how the graphics flow look sick with the green nicely done!

I was torn on doing a 65 linkage 110 frame project or a xr 50 style motor swap in a 110 frame project over winter coming up maybe i will just combine the two! haha

How is that rear shock working out? I weight only 140lbs and that was my only concern to get the stocker 65 shock up to par unless i found a ohlins rear 65 shock but im 30 mins from mx-tech suspension so im sure i could get the stocker hooked up lol

Thanks guys!

I can't take credit for actually doing the linkage. Ims suspension did it I guess, I just happen to come across it here on pm. It was a yellow frame with a black swingarm if you've seen it around..

No cradle.. Maybe soon, but yeah i dig the stock graphics, so I tries to keep them.
I want to do disk soon, the frame is already set up for a mc, but I'd have to try to get the powder coated hubs to match again.. Drum don't bother me, but the look does for sure!

The rear shock is perfect for 140! I'm 150.. You can make the stock showa good with the right valving and spring. Best shock I've ever used.. 10x better than elka's even.

Yeah we just put a 150 into motor into a 50 perimeter bike tonight.. Didn't want to fit, but we made it happen. It's so big in there. Also I saw somewhere that someone did a 65 linkage on a 10" bike.. So I guess you could do both! Good luck

Yeah it's about a +4, so like an inch and a half longer than your bbr.

It's actually a pretty simple design, no cutting the swingarm. It has a stock 65 shock mount cut off and welded on, the linkage is noched in the frame and same with the swingarm mount. Just cut like half an inch in on both sides.
Pretty cheap to build.
Here's some pictures of it, I should have taken more while it was apart.

looks sick man , i had one that i parted out with a kx85 front and rear end with linkage and my only regret was not taking it to the track before i parted it !

No they are gpx forks.. I like them, but I'm about to either send them off or do 85 forks..(if I can come with the$$$).

Yes, the shock, shock mount and linkage have to be more on the right side to make it all work... (You can see it in the picture showing the bottom) Or make it work without cutting the swingarm and doing goofy things.. I think that might be how the 65s are.. Not positive, but they might.
Heres a picture of the 65 shock mount from the top.

Yea i just noticed the angle of the rear shock since new pics are posted but its hard to tell since the bike is leaning on a angle in the pic also so not sure how bad it really is. But that has got to put stress on something and not ride as well as it should.

Reason it looks like that is they modded the frame to fit the swingarm and not the swingarm to the frame like most kx 65 swingarms are done so that affected how the shock would sit further to one side and the linkage since it all ties in together.

I would have made the swingarm fit the frame first and then went to work on getting the shock and linkage straight on the frame and move the swingarm mounts for the shock and linkage setup it would not have been difficult to do it right the first time.

To fix it you would have to reposition the swingarm shock/linkage mount and the frame shock mount as well maybe.

I doubt that it does work as good as it should but guess if it passes ur call then run it, if it was fixed im betting you would notice a difference in just getting that suspension corrected the right way.

As far as ur modded comment the final product sometimes does not always turn out right doing it a easier way but there is no right or wrong way of doing it just different steps since on any custom or one off build you change one thing and it may affect something else by doing that so you have to keep changing things to correct each thing that changed its a part of doing custom fab work.

I already have done a kx 65 complete rear end swap onto a ttr 90 my build thread is in here checkout my pics of the swingarm i did thats on it, i did not run a linkage on that setup since i had a mb vert i shock on the shelf. Ive done lots of other fab/custom work like crf 70 rake angle changes, and i built a cr 80/xr100 conversion bike among other things so i know my way around.

That pic shows a poor attempt of trying the swingarm change but none the less ur shock sits crooked as well and to me i would not want it to look goofy like that. lol

A shock was never ment to sit on a sideways angle and function properly as if it were to be straight just as the angle back and forth of the shock changes the way the shock acts on preload etc it does alter it...

i just thought id share some info thats all

It doesn't sit sideways, it's just all shifted to the right about half an inch. The shock is still straight up and down. it just sits more to the right.. It's all lined up straight, maybe it looks different to you in the pictures because the bike is leaning on a wall.
