My bikes a 2008 I got the 143 bore kit and vm26 carb Im looking for some more power. Whats the main diffrences in the V1 and the V2. Also Iv read that if you do a head youll loose alot of low end, and youd need to do a stroker crank to make up for the lack of low end. Is this true?

idk who told u that but there way wrong , head will increase your power by far. Ive ran the v1 and v2 and the v2 is alot better , bigger valves and just a bigger head period. Also there is alot of work that can be done to the v2 to make it even better. A stroker will for sure help out on the bottom end but i wouldnt put one in unless your tearing the cases apart

Yea thats what I was thinking glad to hear that my bike doesnt have that many hours on it, not really wanting to split the cases. I guess ill need to get a fresh piston to match the head when I order it.

ya id go with the v2 , or i saw storminnorman on here was selling a +r takegawa head that is just as good as a v2 if not better

slightly oversize 31mm intake 24.8mm exhaust +R i have for sale on here.

differences between V1 and V2. V2 has better port layout, roller rockers, and bigger valves wanna say V1 had 27 or 28mm intake and 23 or 23.5mm exhaust and the V2 has 30mm intake and 24.5mm exhaust. will lower rpm power suffer yes. but most guys don't notice it. either cause they never run that low in the rpm range or they have cubes in there favor. as you can see in the first picture attached lots can be done w/ a V2 head if you have the wallet for it.

+R and V2 are very VERY similar. which is better well thats a hot topic. guess it depends who you ask. facts- the V2 valves suck they are soft and cup super quick, plus side they are cheap about 65 bones for a new set v/ valve springs keepers and retaienrs, V2 rockers are heavy steel rockers both +R rockers combined weight less than 1 V2 rocker. +R valve train is better but also more expensive about 120-125 for just the intake and ex valve no springs retainers or keepers, port layout IMO is nicer than V2 but that really dont mean a hill of beans cause most guys send heads off to be ported, rocker arms are light weight aluminum, and lastly overall casting is better quality on the +R. $225.00 bones nicer well...guess thats for each his own to decide.
