I got a set of the 8 inch by 4.8 inch snow hogs from jigracer. It says their tubeless, but my dad said i have to run tubes bceause of my 2 peice rims.

Were do I get 8 by 4.8 tubes? Would Mountain Motosports carry 4.8s?

As jigracing says, the 3.50/4.00 x 8 tube will work fine with the Snow Hogs, just make sure you get the tube with the 90 degree metal valve stem. The Kenda tube part number is N-0802, and has the correct valve stem type (TR-87C).

you can get studs for ice racing that are really short, can't ever let them touch frozen pavement as it ruins the edges.......... i gotta get to the store this weekend and buy some for my minis for frozen lake ice adventures!

not much works in just snow, we used to ride snowratts in the city when it stormed, used any old beatup jap bike with some fresh knobbies......... extremely late at night with no traffic was killer.

www.blackletter.org has a story posted from a few years ago............ wes wrote it i think called "snowratts"

Im running a fabbed long swinger so it shouldnt rub. The stock tube fills it? I thought it would be too small to fill it all in. What pressure should I use? I have those 12 dollar trial tread that I have to them run hard or the edges role like nobodies business.

My stock tubes have the bent 90 valve stems. They are the ones that came with the bike when it was bought. Should I buy new ones?

Yes, buy new tubes. You're going to find the old ones are covered with rust and crud, and will be flaking. The valve stem is also usually weak enough to pull out of the tube wall. Maybe 15-16 dollars for both, tops....

You'll have to experiment with tire pressure, I think I run 15 psi, it seems to work for me...

Do they work in the snow, we were out last week on knobbies in about 6 inchs of powder snow and had absolutly no control.

Well they are "Snow Hogs" and are from a snowblower. You can even buy snow chains for them but I wouldn't think they would be very good on your bike.

I have never ridden them in the snow so I wouldn't know how well they work personally, but should be decent.
