im wrapping up my crf50 superpro build and have and exhaust question. i have a gpx 160 with v2 head. i thought about running the fmf i have for a crf50 with the ncc adaptor. could i run a straight klx110 exhaust?
There are some YX160s that have Honda based exhaust and intake ports. I have 2 of those heads. I pulled them off when I made my 160s 184s and 192s WITH V2 heads.. A V2 head makes a ton more HP but it has KLX desighned ports so if you run the (Trail Bikes) rear facing intake all your Honda stuff bolts up except the pipe. You have to have the pipe cut and rewelded.. There is a thread in here a long time ago about the NCC adapter. I treid 3 and was never able to make it work. Lots of guys have got them and they didnt work and some guys were able to make them work. I also use a FMF 4.1 and couldnt make the adapter work. But that pipe is SOOOO bad ass that I just cut it after the first 180 degree bend mounted it to the header. Mounted the can to te frame and had a shop weld in a little piece the same size of pipe there was before. Now I have the best pipe on the best head and it I can take it on and off no problems fits like a glove.so a straight KLX110 exhaust is too long for the CRF50 frame? my friend ran a YX150 in a CRF50 frame and had to cut the exhaust and weld in an extention. I assume because the exhaust port sits out further due to the shape and size of the head. so basically along side the other crap you would have to deal with installing a YX160 in a CRF50 frame, making an exhaust fit is a whole nother issue...damn, guess im going with the YX140 after all, at least that motor is CRF50 based so i whouldnt have an exhaust issue.
