Your guess is right lol he was using something else. I took it to him since all his kids race dirtbikes and I figured it would be my best bet to get it off. Well I guess you learn from your mistakes. You all probably think I'm a idiot now... But that's fine! Cheers

I'm planning on just buying a 125cc lifan engine I found online with a 26 mm mukuni carb for $270 and just slapping that In there

Your mind is probably set on the new motor, but if you looked in the right places I bet you could repair that motor you have for less than $60 including the piston and rings. Im guessing since you bought a bike for $500 that you are just using it on backyard tracks for fun and not trying to get too serious about it, so thats why I recommend the repair. If you are going to buy a new motor, you might as well go with a little better motor like the 140 that PitsterPro sells. Power and reliability are much better with these than the Lifan motors.

As for the chain issue, I would look closer at why the chain keeps kicking off. There are alot of cheap models that have a bad design when it comes to how the swingarm sits and moves that no matter how you have your chain adjusted it will kick off when you start working the rear suspension. You want to make sure this isnt going to be an ongoing problem with your new motor.

im pretty set on just putting a new motor in it, and yes it is just for tearing around on and going up to my uncles cabin and riding all the trails that are there. I found a yx 140cc works engine for $360 and thats with shipping on tbolt. is this a good reliable motor? I have been looking up motors and writing them down with the ship included so i can find the best deal it seems like all the lifan 125cc engines i come across with ship are around $315 to $345. Just seems like tbolt has the best deal and its a 140cc. what do you think?
