Hey everyone, I just recently decided to build my first mod bike and so far its started off very slow. I only have about $400 to spend and all I have right now are bars and the frame. Just wondering what would be some reliable parts pertaining to suspension and motor work and if anybody had a mod motor they'd like to sell me along with anything else. I really need the help so pm with any mod parts youd like to get rid of (complete motors under 600, suspension, stock wheels preferably, etc). Ill post pics as more parts are purchased!

Building a full mod is VERY expensive....You can be into it easily $12k if you do it right with the best of everything. You can buy that same $12k bike used in this market for $4-6K in almost mint condition.........Think about that before you dump all that money into it.

Sell the frame and save for one already done.

Don't worry lol you can build a mod bike for a reasonable price. The money comes with maintaining it. Tires, brakes, oil, sprockets... you get the idea.. If your smart with your money you can build a great bike!! I would put the money where it counts. Build a solid reliable engine, bottom end and everything. Do it right the first time. Don't get caught up in building the biggest, fastest, most expensive engine. Build something solid, reliable, and ride-able. You don't need zokes, or a bling bling perimeter to go fast. I think in certain ways those items can work against the rider more than they would think. Stick with an A-style swingarm, 'big bike' style swing arms aren't the best setup. You can find a used long travel swing arm and shock on here for a reasonable price. Mods could be a never ending money pit.. but if you just want a ride-able bike, go in with a game plan. Do some research to find what you like and what actually fits in your budget.

i hear ya on that one. My plan is to buy mostly used parts off of here and hopefully have a 143 bbk in a motor and reasonable suspension. I dont need something thats fire breathing but I would like to have more power. I have only ridden stockers and it seems like i can hang with some more advanced riders so i just need something that will let me hang with their bikes.

plan on at least a grand in suspension.. I ran the ktm65sx forks and a 2bros/racetech rear end and it was amazing!! both pieces that you can find on this site for around a grand shipped.. motor wise I ran a 143 carb cam pipe with a tak 6 disc full manual and it ripped!!! and is super reliable had the same bbk for 2 years and runs super strong!! mods are fun but dont waste the money if its not gona be ran on true race tracks if its a backyard warrior build a sweet stockmod and it will be much better!!
