I have a TB 88 race head engine I am getting going but the only two carbs i have is the 24mm that comes with the stroker kit and a 17mm i think it is off a xr70. Will the 17 work allright on the tb88 with race head? I know it is not the best carb for it but will it work all right?

the 17 should work I guess, it still will be too small, you should try and tune both of the carbs and see which one you like best, OR have a stroker kit put in and use the 24 like it was intended to be used:p, and if you do have the option try to sell one and buy a 20 or 22. at TBOLT the stock lifan 22 carb is like $25, and its the one I have now, which, apparantly is too small for my 150. Good luck with it all

i was going to say i'm shure you can use the bigger carb just jet it down a bit. i'm runnign the 20mm that came with the kit as well but i would use the bigger of the two worst case is you pull the carb back off and put the other one on?

with 88cc's and race head i would think the xr70 carb would run out of fuel up top since the fuel bowl is much smaller then the 20mm+ carbs.

stock xr80 (79.8cc) has 20mm carb and uses smaller valves then the race head and much lower compression.

i know they say you can use a stock 50 carb with the stock head 88 kit. but its advised to use at least a 20mm. before i got my carb straightend out i though my 20mm was runnin outa fuel up top. thought i was gana need a bigger carb.
