So my buddy bought a bike today for 200 bucks. It needs some work so I was wondering if anyone could help us identify what brand it is. The VIN is L5NPUMFF25T000423. The engine number says 152FMI and below that XZ081366. Here are a few pictures.

It needs some work. The carb is dumping gas out of the over flow, hopefully a good cleaning can fix that. It looks like the front tube is leaking, no worries there. Rear tire needs to go, no worries there 30 bucks for a new Dunlop. The rear brake has no fluid in it, dumb ass selling it didn't even know where the reservoir was. Anyways I don't have much hope for it working when i add brake fluid to it tomorrow. So I'm pretty sure it's going to need to be replaced. I think I found a replacement.

REAR BRAKE ASSEMBLY MASTER CYLINE CALIPER CRF50 50 BK07

Also I'm pretty sure the front forks have leaked all the oil out so they're super springy. I'm pretty sure this is the exact setup thats on the bike. I wonder if you can get fork seals for these forks?

Anyone have any clue about any of this stuff.

We added some brake fluid to the reservoir and it started leaking out of the hose from the reservoir to the rear master. We replaced that with some hose that was lying around, bled it and surprise surprise rear brake works great now.

We bought the bike knowing it wouldn't run. I figured it was because the fuel dumping out so it was just flooding. Well with the carb cleaned the fuel doesn't dump out but it still won't start. Pull the plug, ground it and sure enough there's no spark. We swapped the coil and the CDI from my SSR into this bike and still no spark. Just for grins I put my friends CDI and coil into my SSR and it works just fine in my bike. So we grabbed a multimeter and checked all of the wiring and it all checks out. The kill switch checks out. At this point it seemed like the only thing that was left was the magneto. Popped off the flywheel cover and it seems like we found the problem. One of the wire coils on the magneto is badly burnt up. A new magneto is only 20 bucks from PCC motors so I think were going to try that.

Well heres the latest. I called up chinese bike dealer here in town. Turns out they had the magneto and by another stroke of luck, the flywheel puller for my cr250 worked perfect pulling off the flywheel. We threw the new magneto in and viola, we have spark! Throw everything back together and ..... nothing. Still won't start. I figured we might have carb issues since the lying sack of crap that sold it to us said it sat in storage unit for months. Just wanting the thing to run we took the carb off my SSR and threw it on the new bike. Won't start. At this point the only thing I could think is maybe the timing was off. Pull off the cam cover and sure enough, the mark on the cam sprocket was 2 - 3 teeth off. I thought I had it figured out at this point. Surely, thats why the POS wont run. Get the timing corrected and ... nothing. Still wont start.

We gave up at that point and went riding my SSR and my CRF70.
