I was just wondering why it seems that whenever someone drops a bigger mill into their ATC, they always use a Lifan. Is there something about, say a GPX 140, that won't work? I'm wondering about front/rear sprocket alignment and pullstart conversions on a non-Lifan motor. The reason I ask is that I was thinking about the new 125 HP motor from Pitster for my '83. Thanks

sprocket alignment should be the same with any of the Chinese motors as long as it has Honda mounts....pull start conversion IDK....DRATV shows you how to do it for Lifan....probably a similar process for the Zonger

See, a buddy of mine actually just got a 125 HP yesterday and as of 8 o'clock last night, he had just dropped it in his ATC and was eyeing things up. He thought it looked like the front/rear sprockets weren't in line, which is why I asked. As for the pullstart, my theory is if there's a will, there's a way. However, he thought that if we mounted our pullstarts to these motors, there'd be an awful lot of "stuff" hanging out the left side of the motor.

On the plus side, he said that the stock exhaust will mount up with very little modification. I know, I know, why would you ever want to run stock exhaust on a big motor? He lives reasonably close to some neighbors, and for lawn racing and whatnot, we want to try to be quiet. We plan on running them on the river this winter though, in which case big bore exhaust is a go.

I actually have the stock exhaust from an SDG pitbike bent up already. It looks better than stock (chrome) and has a nice tone, but is not overly loud.

I also just picked up a parts 70 last night for $200 with a Cobra exhaust on it to use if I want, although I heard the Cobra pipes are pretty loud. Good river runner candidate.

I guess I'm also wondering if anyone runs these things in the snow? It seems like with a set of tall bars and bigger motor, they'd be a blast. I have a set of 18" AMS zippers and 4x110 hubs, which I thought would work pretty good, although the front end might push!

The GPX 140 is the same as the Piranha 140. Fits perfectly. Only issue is that the head sits too close to the fender so you need to trim it. All sprockets should line up perfectly.

The pull start conversions should be available those as well.

I ride a stock ATC70 in the snow & on ice...They are total blast, made my winter a lot more fun.. Not the best in really deep snow but more ponies & bigger tires would be a plus.
