TB 20mm Shengway comes stock with a 89 main, I think leaner is the way to go, say 87-89 max.

Get the $10 TB jet kit from Matt. Start with the stock settings, 89 main, 35 pilot, 1.5 turns out on the fuel screw and the needle in the middle.

I think you will end up with a 87 main and needle at the 2nd clip from the bottom, 38 pilot may run better than a 35 but prob not and the fuel screw will vary depending on temp, altitude, etc.........

I think the high RPM miss you are getting is a rich prob caused by the 95 main. 95 main is what TB runs stock on their 24mm carb.

My Son's ported head 88 just got a 20mm put on it (Walbro I got on the real cheap...Keihin copy like your carb) and with a 85 main, 38 pilot (came with a 32, way lean, had a 38 on hand, 35 will prob be best), 1.25 turns on the screw and needle 2nd clip from the bottom I think it is a little rich, feels good around the yard but pinned at Adams in a week will figure it out. I don't mind running a little rich for Supermoto, as he is always WFO, and too rich is better than too lean.

It bogs in the middle when i accelerate through the RPM's. When i go to a lower main it will go away, but the plug readings make me think it's SUPER LEAN, no matter what jet i use. Oh and no leaks, i just checked.

It is rich in the middle, we almost always go too rich!! Needle and main have too work together.

Hey how's it going. Well i just went ahead and got a TB88 kit w/ race head. It has the TB rev box and I bought a BBR Big Bore pipe. Now i'm having trouble tuning this damn thing, I think. I did the whole rev out all the gears then shut the bike off, coast to a stop, and check the plug. When i look at the plug, the tip of the electrode(hook) looks gold. Like shinny polished gold or like copper. Lean RIGHT? I mean it's perfectly smooth almost no sign of burnt fuel on it. But, the bike runs ok. It also bogs as it goes up the RPM's. I went to a smaller main, 90-92, i have a 95 on it now, and it seems to get better with the smaller main. But plug doesn't change so I'm afraid to run the smaller main cause I don't want the bike to run to lean and melt down, thats why i have the 95 in it now. Sorry for the long ass story but this bike is starting to bug the f*** out of me. What would you recommend as far as settings that have worked for you? I'm in Riverside, SoCal. Thanks for any advice.

You need some time on the plug to get a good reading IMO, out of the box bang, bang, bang it'll look lean unless it's major rich.

when u get the carb is it assembled with the jets from trail bikes? and is it tuned or do u have to tune it yourself? like with the jets do you have to change em or does he put the ones that are suppose to be in the carb?

It should come: 89 main, 35 pilot, needle in the middle, fuel screw who knows............Ready to bolt on.

i have the tb 20

what is the pilot?

Pilot jet, controls zero to just past 1/8 throttle opening primarily. You usually don't need to mess with it.

If you have the fuel screw past 2.5 turns out, usually time for a bigger pilot.

Thanks filthy. I got the bike running clean now. Took about 30 minutes, finally settled at 90 main, middle on the needle, and 1.5 turns out on the air screw. Might still be a little rich but oh well. This thing pulls nasty. Front wheel up in all gears. Thanks for everyones advice hopefully it will help someone else also.

Sweet!

Take some rides and check the plug, if it is a tad rich drop a size on the main and try the needle clip 1 lower.

I think im gonna run it like this for a little while until i break it in a little more. Then ill start to mess with stuff. Right now im just happy that it's running decent.
