ssr 140 dies when hot

Can someone please point me in the right direction. I have an SSR 140 and it died on me one day when after riding a while and getting hot. I put a new plug and plug wire on it thinking that was it and took off rode strong for about an hour then died when it got hot not it tries to fire first kick then it will not try to turn over after that. Also it feel easier to kick then it used to but I do not have any way to do a compression check like I said it was running very strong when it cut off so can someone please give me some things to check?

what color was ur plug?

Ran lean and smoked something in the top end would be my guess. easy kick is due to low compression. if its kicking over at least it didnt melt the piston

Sounds like a cooked stator.

I was leaning towards the stator as well would I get any spark if it was cooked? Will also undertake a valve adjustment this weekend but I really believe it is elictrical as it started and ran good before it got hot.
