***MORE PICTURES ADDED AFTER REMOVING MORE STICKERS / REAR FENDER / ETC>>>>

ALSO ACTION SHOTS ADDED BELOW****

I got sick of looking at the lime green paint and the cheesy stickers (including warning stickers)

I've had the Pirellis for about 2 years (bought here on PM) and I've had the shocks (from China??) for about a month.

Finally I decided to spend some time this afternoon.

Here are the before shots (all dirty and sitting high)

And here are the after shots.

Basically I took the whole bike apart and cleaned it. (my neighboorhood is all new construction and the area is really dusty and dirty, I rode this thing a bunch of times after it had just rained and it had a layer of caked on dirt)

-Chinese CT70 (90cc?? all 4 down)

-Pirelli SL38's from a member on PM

-Chinese rear 280mm shocks

-backyard special front lowering

took the stickers off and voila...................

Personally I think it looks a million times better.

plans include:

-lowering the seat

-shaving the seat

-turn signals

-exhaust changes

-painting it a different colour

-maybe a manual clutch swap

-getting it plated (after the turn signals)

thats about it.

Being chinese (with chinese aftermarket) it hasn't cost me alot of money, but its still a blast to bomb around my neighbourhood on.

Comments / flames / input ?

Cheers

Ditch the warning decal thingy off the front fender, or just replace with a chrome CT or CT-copy one, replace the Gigundo rear tailight and bracket with a smaller/clean version in chrome....plus add a luggage rack...it will make the seat look normal. Don't cut the foam down or you will get monkey-butt in 5 minutes on the bike.... Remove the side warnig decals from the frame and add a downswept exhaust.....

Really HUGE improvement on the original. I have a set of those tires - they are pretty decent, especially for the price.

I would agree - remove as many of the safety stickers as you can get away with - maybe get it plated first, then do away with them, if you think they are necessary for inspection.

You might get some repop side decals for it if you want it to look more "Honda".

However, for virtually no investment sans the shocks you made much more of a looker!

I am a little concerned about what happens in front when you hit a bump; it looks like you have about 1.5"-2", max, before the fork wipers hit the lower triple clamp. Did you cut the springs? If so, then I guess at least the forks are a little stiffer. I'd like to hear more about the fork lowering.

I have to say, though, that the bike looks nice lowered, and the lime-green paint, when not broken up by stickers, really "pops." Cool project. I like how there's a LOT of green going on there, broken up by kind of understated silver parts. And lowered/visually cleaned up, it looks longer, which is cool.

It seriously doesn't even look like the same bike after the things you did. Great job man, definitly post up about how you went about lowering it in the front, I am curious to find out the deatails on that too.

Keep up the modding.

Agreed with everyone above, it's moving along nicely but get rid of that freaking lime green please. I can understand the "get the attention of people" qualities of a nice bright color like that, and it would look great balanced with a nice flame job, (another reason to get rid of the remaining stickers) but good Lord it's not pretty in it's current setup.

Yellow and Red would offset your current color very well. If not flames, just the addition of other colors would help.

where did you get the shocks at?

What size are those sl38 Tyres. I have those on my monkey but am looking tyre for my dax,and I'm really interested in knowing how it was done and what the ride is like on those front forks as I have a set off rear 280's waiting for my dax?

Cheers

okay,

gonna try and respond to everyones replies

Today I took off the plastic rear fender and it does look alot better

Tomorrow I'll take off the last of the warning stickers

For color, I'm thinking a really light gunmetal or a sea blue

Personally I don't mind the high exhausts, and as for getting an upswept exhaust, I'll only do it if I can find one cheap (chinese?) I don't want to spend more on an unobtanium exhaust than I would for a big bike - not to mention some of the exhausts I've seen are more than the entire bike and current mods.

right now the front end is down with a combination of removed spacers and different springs, but I want to go about it differently so that I can get it a tiny bit lower but with more travel.

the tires are 120/70/10 and they are pretty close to the bolts that hold the front fender.

the shocks are off ebay, I think I paid $80 ???? plus shipping?

did I reply to everyone?

p.s. - thanks for the input everyone!

The more I look at that, the more I like the green with the silver wheels and engine and stock pipe. It's sleeker and cleaned up, but it doesn't scream at you. Well, I guess it screams at Dan-O, or at least yells a little, but to me it looks like a sleeker, cleaner CT in an interesting color.

Plus, no one has to know it came in that color. You can take credit for being daring with the paint selection and no one will know any different.

My two cents is, get the suspension dialed in where you get the best combination of "looks cool" and "is safely rideable", and just put as many miles on it as you can stand. Try to out-mileage chuckklr; ride to Sturgis on it or whatever.

Yep I think everyone got a reply including me thanks! I'll have to keep an eye out for those shocks because I like the reservoir look and want some nice shocks for my white Z. Sweet bike by the way!

I don't know, the color is kind of growing on me.......like a fungus. ;) I guess I was a bit hard on the color, but I wasn't a big fan of when Mopar did it either. It's weird too because I'm Irish and I should like all shades of green. Like I said though, some accent colors would probably have me doing an about face. I didn't mean to imply that I hated it, just that it needs something added to it.

Hey Air50, keep your eye in I found them for you.
