i am looking at buyin a Tb 143 bore for my 05 drz110, but i was wondering that if i will be regreting not spending the extra money to buy one with a race head? does it make that much of a difference? i want all the power i can get, but money is an issue so im not sure if the power will be worth the extra money or not.

Youll gain quite a bit of power with the V2.

If it were me, I would spend the money on the bottom end.. Get a 4th gear shift drum, 08 output shaft, and 55mm crank. Then you could always add the V2 head later on. If money is an issue you could always look at getting the stock head ported for the time being, but it'll always be restricted by the small valves.

i think ill just end up with the race head, but what about the 55mm crank. i dont really no anything about them. where do they add the power to in the power band? and how much power do they add?

listen screw a 4th gear unless your going with like a 165 kit and get a race head off here from someone with a little time on it cleaned up. and output shafts are dumb i had a 02 which was socalled the worst one and it was not an issue and i beat my bike haha

a fourth gear is a must...just my .02,idk about the output shafts im sure there wouldnt be a big upset if everyone didnt buy one....

yea i use the crap out of my 4th gear i have a 155cc with race head by the way and i would throw a out put shaft in there while your down there, they snap all the time, you can get the 08 ones off ebay or i think like T BOLT and some other venders have them for like 50 bucks or so not really sure on the price but check them out.

about the output shaft, too many people have broke the old style ones and the problems that causes is worse than the cost of buying a bbr one, much less an 08+ kawi output. some people get lucky and don't tear theirs up just like some people who rip their peg mount bolts through their cases because they didn't buy a cradle. the downside of not getting the preventative parts is not worth the damage that might happen

I've got a case half, ready to ship in the AM, to a guy with a bone stock pre-08. His output shaft broke, and moved just right, so that it popped the retaining lip off the case. 111cc stocker. Sending a new output shaft and bearing, too, of course...

I stock the output shafts, 4th gear drums, and do a bunch of peg mount repairs, both welded and just oversize drill & tap methods. Even the 110 has a few weak spots;)
