Yeah definitley keep us updated on that. I wanna know if it was an install error, or a part failure or whatnot. Since I'm going to be getting the Kitaco 143se kit for my 110 I don't wanna have shit breaking on me as long as I do my maintaince and whatnot.

ok...thats crazy...i wnated to buy the same tranny...but now im gonna go with the takegawa...kitaco seems not so good

Well all the tranny kit replaces is 1st gear and the main shaft. Nothing is wrong with 1st gear on the bike right now.

Im 99% positive that when we forgot to put the bolt in the shift drum shifted and put slight pressure on the WHOLE tranny bending/tweaking something. My guess is the same thing would have happened if we had the takewaga. When we put the new shift forks on it got better though, its now fairly easy to get it passeed the "locked up" part with a vice grip, before it took ALOT of strength.

This is my theory, just a theory so its probably not right, but anyway. I think when the shift forks bent and pushed the gears "together" the tranny locked up hard but the topend didnt so when the tranny locked the topend tried to keep spining. the clutch is connected to the crank so the clutch was also trying to spin which in turn twisted the main shaft ever so slightly. Seems logical?

You said that when you install the right engine case, and bolt it together, is when the trans binds up, correct?

Backtrack through a microfiche diagram and make sure you have all the thrust washers, spline washers, and lock rings in the correct order. If you have something out of place, it can cause the trans to bind when you bolt the case halves together. Even adding an extra thrust washer or spacer accidently will cause the same result.

Yes there is a chance that he has a bad part but billions and billions , well maybe only one of the billlions   of people including myself are run'n Takegawa parts with no problems !!!!

- Remember this problem all started when a bolt was left wasn't installed for the shift drum !!!!

3rd , are you 100% sure you've installed all the trans pieces in correct order and facing in the correct direction ??? Your also 100% sure that you haven't forgotten any other washers etc . ???

Just check'n :D ...

I have checked the order of the parts on the shafts a couple times, so im alteast 99% sure thats all right. The thing is the tranny did work fine before it locked up, so i would think if i had forgotten a thrustwasher or something it would have been locked from the moment i put the halfs together for the first time.

might as well ebay it and get a good chinese 125 now:D :D . Thats shitty though, get some different transmission shafts and try that. Steal them out of your 88 or something.

I would but i need to order a kitaco main shaft. Probably tomorow im gonna order a mainshaft from classic honda.

My dad is helping me out ALOT with the expence of fixing this motor. Me and him put it together as a project (first time rebuilding a 50 motor from the gournd up). We both messed up and didnt notice we forgot the bolt, so he doesnt think i shoudl have to pay for all of it. Plus i cant really work right now and he knows that so hes helping me out to get my 50 running again.

The motor is out of the frame, the cases are split.

5 was a estiment. Ive never actually counted but i know its between 3-7 revolutions before it binds. Once it binds you can turn it the opposite way for about 1 turn then it locks again, like i said putting channel locks on the mainshaft you can force it passed the locked up part and it will spin freely for another 5ish turns then lock again.

Wait actually...You need to tear it back down and machine the case for the bigger kickstart gear. You will notice that it binds up. It isn't in the instructions anywhere but this has to be done. This is what happened when we built the TB108 with the takegawa clutch. The taller first gear requires a bigger kick start gear.
