Im swapping the trans in my GPX 125 motor, and i can't figure out were this washer (1st pic) goes. When i took out the old trans, the washer was were it was in the 3rd picture. However, i went to put the new trans in, and the washer does not fit over the trans shaft, nor does it fit over the old trans shaft. So i was thinking, maybe the washer goes were i put it in the 2nd picture? Can anyone help verify thats were it goes?

Im willing to bet thats the washer that goes inside your clutch cover. If you look inside it there will be a little post. See if it slides over that, i know theres supposed to be one there. Let me know.....

I dont think thats it because it was underneath the trans when i pulled it out. Im pretty sure it goes were it is in my 2nd pic, but i wanna be absolutely sure because i dont want to have to split cases twice..

do you have a washer that fits the kick shaft? some trans are shimmed differently

yes but its on there, i never even took out the kick shaft, so i know thats not it.
theres quite a few places that darn washer could go :p

Are you sure it doesnt go on after with the large coiled spring on the kickstart?

and in your 3rd picture it looks correct but you have figured neither of your shafts fit in it. When you say it didnt fit over do you mean not at all or just not enough as you think?

I dont think the 2nd picture is correct as I never remember there being a washer there but what really makes me think it doesnt go there is that it would be covering the bearing so oil wouldnt be lubing it really

ps: and could you get some more pictures, a bit further away and putting the washer on certain places. would be great

heres a manual you wanted in the other thread

yeah im about 99.9% sure that washer has nothing to do with the kickstart shaft because i didnt see it until i removed the trans, which caused me to think the it went were it is in the 3rd pic. but yeah the washer does not fit at all over the shaft, so i am pretty sure it doesnt go there. and thanks alot for the manual thats a hugeeee help i might just be able to use that to figure it out because i have all the other washers in the right places, so whatever one that i am missing that is in the diagram, thats were this one should go (hopefully) :p

to me that looks like a spring washer. Is it flat? Cant tell from the pics.

If it isnt it will go behind your nut on the clutch or sling.

And those spring washers go in, theyre cone shaped and when it is tightened down it flattens keeping it on.

Right im been having a hard look at this, here my conclusion, looking at you gpx manual i posted:

either its "D13-14" thats the shifter drum) or "D14-18" either end of the kickstart shaft (although yes you said you already had those)

but be careful looking at "D14-18" your notice there 2 washers, 1 on each side.

I think its "D13-14"

doubt it but maybe D04-17

heres a few bits of mine i thought id throw up for you, bottom right in 1st pic and top right in 2nd pic, thats the gear shift drum

the washer is too big to fit on the shift drum, and i already have that one as well. I know its not the cam roller washer, and i already have the washer that goes on the kickstart mechanism as well.

oh bugger. in your 2nd pic, what is that on? (just so i know for certain what it is). I spose you could put the washer there but as you know, its so important to have washers where they need to be, without it - too loose and thats premature wear, with it on - too tight and same thing plus its grinding and at the same time putting bits through your oil

i keep looking at the manual and I cant say anything else, Ive looked at my own pics and videos and it seems it either goes where your pic2 is or not at all, Im almost certain there isnt one on the yx140 where your pic2 is.But with the takegawa engines there is a washer there and that the manufactures sometimes revise the build, SO BLOODY confusing!

one thing you maybe able to do is sort of bolt it all up with the trans in there and that then try pulling and pushing with moe grips or whatever to try and feel for play, im not sure what else to suggest (take a chance and just stick in there i spose - has to go somewhere a

in pic 2 it is on the bearing that the smaller trans shaft fits into. i wonder if it could go there.. how much play are you supposed to have in your trans shafts when the cases are put together?
