I just got done installing new Japan made NTN bearings on the transmission shafts and the crank of a fresh yx192cc . Besides the upcoming cost of installing a sleeved idler bearing or a yx retro case swap for a total of $79.84 retail I fit my yx160 with quality Japanese NTN bearings. This has to be best mod for the money next to balancing the crank. Not only is the motor by far smoother but has a near silent bottom end now
.
I have also rolled the dice on a pair of hybrid ceramic bearings for another one of my yx160 builds I have not run it yet but I will be testing to see if there is a benifit in longevity, rpm's, or oil temperature. They were $89.95 each so I am hoping they will pay off in some way..
