Zongshen 170cc engine

Mobster pitbike starts selling Zongshen type 170cc engine. Info about engine can be found here. I've send email to get more information, will post when I'll get it.



Looks lot like Pitster Pros engines...



Hope this post doesn't get deleted like last one ;)

Nothing new, just a different side cover and head change to the current Z155/YX160, and a couple MM more bore, 6-plate clutch stack. There's no exclusive on them. UCL, Universal Chinese Lump. It will be touted as the GLEE, but we hear that every year or so. We'll see, soon enough.

So what are those gear ratio's? Tooth counts would be best!

Actually been in the hands of paying customers, elsewhere. lol



Same unfiltered oil to the head, lame gear-train kicker setup, and they come out of their time in the container a little bitter.



"Prototype" Z's had CR trans, according to sources in the know. Still advertised that way on some sites.

Gotta make sure the invoice matches what's delivered...

I believe the 180cc 4valve motors are coming with the similar setup.Can't wait to rip into it this weekend.:D



Will somebody just make them with a 5 or 6 tranny already installed! What next a 275cc 4spd tranny still?????

My buddies at XMR had gotten a few of them in.I call them cheater motors because they still say 160cc on the cylinder.When Doug opened the box to and opened up on to make sure they were the 180cc's he ordered.LOL

It's a 57.5 X 63mm bore It is based off of the yx 160 though.From what i remember it has a 6plate clutch and a heavier duty timing chain along with a bigger cam sprocket too.

I hoping to make it up to Va to pick it up sat. So i can tear into ASAP.

Those are YX based engines.

yes we are dyno testing them along with the daytona,, It has "Daytona " parts in it because the the daytona 150 is made at the Zongshen factory, So Zongshen uses both parts in the PP HO engine as well.

those are 57mm stroke and 62mm bore its the same motor setup that is in my borthers bike

The ones that Doug ordered are 180cc motors. They broke into one of them and checked everything out.But either way i'll be getting my hands on one to open up for sure.Infact before i buy it i will inspect one of the ones they opened.I can't go purchasing 172cc thinking it's a 180cc. They had those motors for like 3 months ago and was tinkering with them.

sorry dude the only kit and or stroke that YX is doing is the 53mm 57mm stroke and the 62mm bore



so maybe he needs to recheck his Bore and Stroke again, o and whats a bigger cam sprocket going to do?? i think that might be a oops assesment also



and if YX finnally got there 6-plate done its news to me because we gave them 2, 6-plate kits to copy 2 years ago,
