I'm thinking about getting .one of the new yx 160 engines. Anyone know anything about them? Should I just get the old 160 and put a case upgrade kit in it? Or should I just get a Zongshen 155?

Both are good engines and both have different issues! Currently, the option list is greater for the yx160.
the yx160 is a good motor. my brother has one and upgraded the case. i could have sworn the cases have since been beefed up. it was primarily due to the kick starting shaft breaking the case i believe. he starts his up like its a cr or kx500 (spin it once or twice and start it from TDC. never any kickback or unneadded stress) and has never had a problem either way.
OK, so then if I go with the 160 should I get the version 2? Are they really any better than the original?
We use z155, yx etc for big bore projects to date the biggest is a z155 turned into a monster 239cc!!
well I bought tgrs bike and I'm gonna be putting it through the ringer....I know it was built good so..... I went with the z155

I am gonna put a Husky WR390 engine in my Tech Five frame and twist it so the jug is horizontal.....shorten the wheel base by 4 inches....that way I can race against peewee 50's and hope not to get smoked... aircooled horizontal engine open frame screamer

seriously my Jog will pull wheelies at 25mph...and is stupid quick...ha ha and its a horizontal engine with no under brace...ha ha so its a pitbike!!
I hate shifting Ive often thought about putting one of them in a pocket bike to run onroad....CVT is the way to go!
