were working with tm28 right now , its a flat slide 4 stroke carb with a decent price and works well with bigger motors



the discussion on pumper carbs is interesting ....
 
I have retrofitted some accelarator pump carbs on these type engines but you have to have enough room unless its the FCR.....which has a hefty price tag... they were off of moped 4T engines!

You can buy FCR 28's from any Keihin dealer but you will not be able to get one set up properly to run on a Honda 50 biased engine. If you want one set up properly you need to buy the Kitaco kit from Kitaco dealers, and your looking at $600+...Unless you really know these carbs and can buy the generic one and set it up properly....



I have one on my 124+R and right out of the box it was the best running carb without adjustments Ive ever run....
 
I have 2 pumper carbs the first is my 28mm FCR down draft carb(aka pumper).My second is the 28mm mikuni TM pumper carb. When i was running the fcr it was SICK! but i could get it tuned properly.So i pulled that off. Then put on my 28mm mikuni tm pumper. I got the carb dailed great the bike runs great.But it doesn't feel as strong as when i had the fcr carb on.

The fcr carb is a RADICAL carb!

Heres a few vids The first vid was a open track day i did at the track in Elgin Sc.In this vid i was running the fcr carb in the lay down position right on top the motor.You can hear it load up on the lowend.




In this vid i'm running the Mikuni Tm 28mm pumper carb. So far has been on my bike ever since.

what bike and engine is that your running hard to tell from video?

Would you happen to have a assortment of pilots, main jets and a few different 4 stroke " jj " style needles in stock, for the PWK 28?

I wonder if the power feel (and low end issues) were more the result of overall intake tract length than the carbs themselves? With that FCR you've got a REAL SHORT setup that's going to want to be wrung out, while the longer intake tract on the TM28 setup will be more forgiving at low RPM? The bigger 'hit' as the FCR comes on may feel like more power just because you're coming from less at lower RPMs in comparison to the more linear build of the TM28 setup.



What would be idea is if you had a standard FCR28 instead of a downdraft so you could run it with a similar intake tract and see how it behaved.



That said, I loved my TM24, took some work to dial in on a 72cc motor but once I did, yee-haw! I've been fighting with a PE28 carb on a motor that an Oko 26 just works without issue on. Hopefully my bump to 160cc will improve things a bit for the PE. If they don't, TM28 time.



I'm also looking into swapping my first gen 39mm FCR on my KTM with a TMx45 carb... if I do I'll report how that goes as well. : )

Yup you are spot on! So i removed it from that position( Laying down) then ran it like the standard setup. I still had no luck with the new intake setup.But i use the same intake setup(Standard intake)with the mikuni pumper and the bike runs great. I just don't know enough about that darn carb.Hopefully i'll have more luck with it on my new 4valve motor i want to build.

Keihin PE28 Carburetor I run this carb on a 184V2 with a S35 cam.. 40 pilot 125 main. And the clip in the third spot. It comes with the correct needle and runs like a charm.. I also run it on my 124+R setup and runs great to.. I use the TB rear facing intake on the 184... This is not a china copie it is the real deal.. But it is not a PWK (flat slide)style carb it is a round slide styled carb...

Nearly identical specs, on the same carb, that I run. I seem to be able to do better on trailing throttle, then slight correction mid-corner, with the round slides. Slide cutaway tuning seems easier, for that "perfect" transition.

we have the same one listed at our store for $80 , but im out right now
