i just got a 3"riser seat and it doesnt rest up the tank at all. theres a 2 inch gap between the two. is this a common problem and is the solution tank risers? i thought the tank risers were just for the easy access of carbs.

I have a tall seat on mine and it lines up with the tank just like the stock did. are the two pieces on the bottom of the seat under the notches that hold it in place?

yes the notches are there but the seat dont rest on tank. i think i have to take it back and get a name brand or put some spacers under the tank.

it lifts the seat/plastics assembly for a higher seat heighth. it looks pretty much like a mickey mouse spacer between the seat and sub frame

I have the exact same seat. You have it on correctly, trust me. I made mine work and it looks great. Check out my album. I had about a 1 to 2 inch gap as well. I drilled two holes in the base of the seat, near the front, and ran tie wraps through them, using the tie wraps to pull the seat down against the gas tank, looping them around the frame of the bike. You can use wire too. I had some fairly long tie wraps that worked great. You can't even tell. It seems like the gripper cover is installed very tightly and they bent the seat base in the process. It is just slightly deformed.

Sweet I knew I had it in right. That part isn't rocket science. I'm glad someone here had the exact seat and problem. Thanks for the help bro!
