I'll be using this thread to ask all my questions instead of starting multiple threads.





To start it off, I ran the motor a bit today and at the front of the motor is leaking a bit of oil. I believe it would be the bolt with the copper washer on it. If you are looking at the front it would be the bottom left.

Alright will do. I'll have to do some searching to find a tourque wrench, suggested ft lbs?



Also, the petcock hits the foam filter that comes with the kit, does this matter? My first thoughts were the putting spacers under the rear of the gas tank and is the heat stop necessary that came with the intake?

If your worried about ripping your filter you can cut and polish your petcock. Just use a dremel cutting wheel and cut off the part that sticks out from the base of the petcock set up. This way it wont stick out any further than it needs to and you can still turn it without any problems.



Also you dont necessarily need a torque wrench for the bolts on the head, as long as you dont over tighten them youll be fine. Torque wrenches are usually pretty expensive and i honestly barely ever use mine unless I'm using it on something in the engine

No problem. Just make sure when you do it to cover your air filter if you dont want to take it off. I just put a ziploc baggie over it so the metal shaving and dust didnt get on it.



Also take your time doing it, dont let it get too hot because im pretty sure theres an o-ring or something inside the petcock that could get ruined.

Re-tightend those front bolts and still a leak... any ideas?



On the right side of the bike is the only external adjustments you can make to the carb, correct?



Has a some bog while sitting in second and really going hard on the throttle

Not sure on the leak if you tightened it up right, maybe try a different gasket theres really no reason for it to leak with a gasket in place. Are all of the nuts on right (there should be three acorn nuts and a regular one and they have to be put on the right way).



The only two adjustments outside the carb are the idle and air/fuel mixture screw (both on the right)



For the bog, try adjusting your air flow screw to a little leaner if your bogging out. You should be able to adjust the air/fuel and idle so that your bike idles low but keeps idling, and so that it wont bog on you when your actually riding it.



When your making adjustments its best to actually ride the bike after you adjust it, instead of just twisting the throttle while its in neutral. This way you can see how your bike will run when your switching gears and actually riding it.

If its a shengwey carb I've never seen a diagram of one. If it came with your kit I wouldnt mess with it too much internally, unless you want to move the needle up or down.

Yea, the kit comes with 3 acorn nuts and and 1 normal nut. 2 acorn nuts go on the top, 1 on the bottom left with the copper washer, and the normal nut on the bottom right.



Check out this video, and skip to 7 minutes in and youll see how it should be bolted on.
