That is so stupid.
Heck no, thats awesome. Are you telling me you wouldn't ride that bike?

It looks like it is ready for a hill climb.....

Hi Guys

Glad that (most of) you like the swingarm, was just something I did for a bit of fun and to be different. With the 12" mag NSR wheels and Showa shock it handled well as it was closer to the length of a real bike than a monkey ! Took the twitchyness out of it but still turned well enough so it was cool.

I took it off in the end as I was putting a full race 143cc motor in and I was wary of the leverage on the little swingarm pivot. A guy I know put a powerful motor in a Honda Dax (CT70 type) and ripped the swingarm right out of it - that was a tuned 2 smoke motor though. My 143cc ran for 3 miles before a piece came off the edge of the piston in front of over 5,000 people during TT week (but it went v well before that lol !) so the bike is now stripped and being sold off in bits to part-fund a Fireblade.

Always wanted to build a proper motard since seeing G-Craft's one from years back but with the CRF revolution they are fairly common now. Ideally I'd use a CRF250 motor which I know isn't a monkey motor but it would be great fun on our twisty roads !!

Take it easy and thanks again for the kind comments.

Isle of Man - British Isles

yeah, thats the same Isle of Man with the gnarly races !

As for what I want for the swingarm, I have no idea. Cost was about ÂŁ400 including post but obviously you don't get anything like that when you sell it.

It does only fit NSR wheels though and I'd need to take a few pics to show the condition as I like to be up-front. Its been off the bike for over a year as I fitted a sweet +20cm triple square braced G-Craft arm which I think is sold now (waiting to hear).

If anyone is interested I'll take a few pics tomorrow night and post them up.

Cheers

Andrew

Nice bike, Andrew; i love your s'arm! :D

-i gots the +20 on my crf.

-actually, every part from gcraft i have seen i love. it's funny how people here in the States only tend to go for "bandwagon" stuff... there are "sheep" in England too, right? the other issue; gcraft parts are big $.... a lot of people can't afford them.

sorry to hear about the piston issue, but if your Fireblade project compares to your Monkey project - im guessing it will be pretty insane.

Post up some pics when it's completed.
