Damn, I was afraid of that. I was hoping to save a few bucks on the head when I build my daughters 70. I thought that maybe i could just go with the TB88 cylinder, the correct piston for the 70 head, a cam with springs and a carb with intake and come out cheaper than buying the complete head.

the 88 bigbore for stock 70 head with a TB race cam and rev box with the stock 70 intake and carb with a clamp on uni filter and a pipe will make it way better than a stock 70 if you do need a pipe I have a FMF for 65 bucks shipped I also have a tb 20mm carb and intake for 60 bucks and even have a used LA sleeve 88cc bore kit with a web cam for 135 bucks it has a billet aluminum steel sleeved cyclinder tell you what I will sell the whole set up with jets for the 20 carb for 260 shipped with a new gasket kit

We took both a 70 head and a TB style race head to the machinist to get valve job and port and polish. This info can be all wrong, but when the company reviewed both of the heads, he said to get all the work done to the 70 head. I don't know what the pro's were to go with the 70 head as I do not even get into that kind of work, but he said we would make more power. Hopefully in the next month or so we can get some dyno number to compare though.

i did a home port cleanup. theres many resrictions in the 70 head. i also polished the combustion chamber and valve seats. idk how it will help but ill see.
