Received new 155z today. Right out of box you can see the quality is 100% better than the yx. I ran it stock on lxr to see how it is. I was very impressed. It pulls hard and revs like my $1200 klx155 did. With new close ratio transmission 1st gear is usable in tight situations and there is no lag between gears. With cdi ignition it starts so easy and no worries unlike yx. I will try bbk with v2 tomorrow. Should be impressive.

I have any Idea why anybody need 182cc in a pitbike anyway:D...engine looks good though , but they should put the oilfilter cover on it...nice move to involve Zongshen again...always loved their engines!! :fing02:

it would be great with the new takegawa magnesium clutch cover for chinese engines on it..

well got my 155 mounted up to my 50 and running finally. need to do some jetting on it. got the adapters to make my 50 exhaust work very easy. runs strong need more leverage on the kickstarter has tons of compression.

The 155z takes alot of machine work on the cases and cover, correct gear selection, and machining off the crank end as well as cutting new threads, then machining an oil connection hole, machine the cylinder fins to clear the oil lines.

got the jetting perfect today!!! one fast mofo. Ran it with a vm26 tons of torque, revs really well. The gear ratio is smooth and in general this thing rips!!:D Props to vince @ tboltusa for hooking me up with one hell of a motor. he should start selling weights to keep the front end down lol.

SO here is a question for those that have this engine in their bike and say that it hauls ass and rips. What other engine setup have you had or would you compair this engine to? I ask because I want to know if you have ever used a well built Honda engine with Takegawa or Kitaco hi-end stroker kit. Or if you are just compairing the new engine to a stock china engine that didnt have crap for performance to begin with.

Well, I don't own the new 155 motor. I do own a GPX177V2 though. I can assume that this new Z motor is very similiar once updated other than being 2mm shorter in the stroke. For purposes of comparison, I also have a GPX170V2 with the 53mm stroke. BOTH of these motors, don't walk...but run, trounce, and otherwise destroy my Takegawa 124 +r setup.

They don't shift as smooth, they vibrate, the cylinder fins rattle, the valve train is noisy sure...but power vs power...they are in two seperate classes. The big china is pure brute strength and the takegawa is refined japanese performance.
