Its worth it..but i would do a port job on the stock head also....or opt for a V2.

The PP decomp lever is a must for all the YX160 and bigger motors too save your knee and ankles..plus it helps save motors too....8)

You only need a drill and a thread making kit to make one! Just look at the picture and you should see how it works.

It's not very quick to operate but costs nothing and works perfectly. Adding a lever and a cable should be pretty easy also..

I've redone everything on that engine ;). It's originally a 140 Lifan but it's now 161cc(not a bolt-on kit). Crankshaft is pretty much the only thing I haven't touched. See
if you're interested.

The stock cover is too thin, the stress would break it.

That really is ingenious but it is done in 10 minutes, costs nothing and works perfectly! I found all the parts from my scrapmetal box, the round ring for example, is the outer shell of an old rollerbearing :).

I might try to make a little more "professional" one with my lathe soon.

Ingenious.

Also, if u wanted, I would try drilling and tapping the original valve cover to accept one of those compression-releases for a Husqvarna/etc chainsaw? baileysonline.com has them for $10. part#QH503715301.

great idea, just havent seen anyone do it and post up about it yet. I may give this a shot.
