Gary, I would like to offer a few comments. I would encourage you to read all my posts

in this thread, I never mentioned any vendor by name until Pitster was brought up to me by Firepower. I answered him with my opinion nothing more or less. Keep in mind this whole thread orginally started with the Medina Rollers thread. I do believe that YX made mistakes and that you are going to be forced to pick up most of the cost to remedy the situation. Unfortunately that is the cost of doing business, no matter what field you are in. When your name in on the line, only you are responsible to see that customers are satisfied. I do feel that the quality of the motors has eroded over time, but asking them to increase the numbers probably lead to most of this. But you and the other importers are the only ones that are in a position to make any demands on the manufacturers. I feel that this thread is a useful tool in educating the pitbike community of the pros and cons of these powerplants.

Sorry to say I will probably not make Vegas this year, but I will be at the east coast events.

I too am always just a phone call away, please feel free to call or email me at your convenience.

Good Luck at Vegas - John

John / PA.... that comment seems out of character for you?

Please do NOT lump all vendors together in this YX crisis.

We ate the failures to make it right... I am sure other vendors did as well!

Props to Gary... as I am sure this was waaaay more significant for him to correct due to the sheer volume/man hours...

The great thing happening here (for the first time) is that the manufacturer is actually listening because their reputation is on the line... Instead of the importer's eating another deal to keep the end customer happy.

How is Andy/YX/Dirtmax going to make this right to the PM forum members that have been damaged?...Can you at least send out some parts kits to help these folks?

There is still one question to be answered, and answered with FACT - not assumption or "put off the customer a little longer" information ................... Do any of you vendors have proof that YX/Dirtmax is coming out with a redesigned case, a redesigned bearing, OR are they just going to be patched? I'm not saying that a patch is a bad thing. Something is MUCH better than nothing.

Bob Sorry If you or Gary thought these were personal attacks that was not my intent
If not them

Blackwoodz, the only point I was trying to make is that the importers were not having any trouble purchasing and selling these motors, not Dirtmax. And the importers are the ones that need held accountable.
Then we need to show who we will support and who we will not. I support Gary and Pitster....because I know first hand they are trying their damdest to get this fixed.

Who else here at the planet minis is telling us the issues with their solutions..SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE.

Do like they do in the mountain bike industry,if the manufactor does'nt make the product as the importer want's they don't buy from them anymore, and for a manufactor to not stand behind their product, would not be tolerated!Lifan has a great opportunity here.

what a joke!

I will say for a FACT, there is hope on the horizon, and YX is listening. There are other options comming soon as well. What will truly help the consumer is find a manufacturer(some are just importer) that you feel will be behind you ,not only on one purchase, but for the long haul. What you have already, what you are thinking about buying and what is not even out yet, there will be some that will be there for you and some that will not.

Every one here that does care or even thinks he may care in the future needs to send Andy a pm or skype mail him and also send emails to Dirtmax demanding a resolution to this matter. If everyone of the above that voted would take this to Dirtmax I believe they will listen and learn from this.

It is cool that you need to show support for Pitster just like others need to show support for other importers. There have been several members of this fourm helping identify the problems and solutions all the way back to the first carb issues.

John I will support and show it for any vendor that personally contacts me and says "look here is the issue how can I help you." So far Pitster is the only importer that has came to me and did that.(Vince did email me and ask if he could help and hats off to Vince for that)...If others have similar stories please share them. I am not trying to ride that PP bandwagon and right now I do not even own a Pitster..I regrettably fell into the cheap OGM pitch sales last fall......But if I knew now what I did not then.....I would would be riding a Pitster.....and in the future WILL BE

Oh almost forgot to give a big props to Jeremiah Staggs for sending me a set of great looking early 07 cases to rebuild my bike.

Yeah my shop is empty pockets racing....whats that got to do with anything?

I asked in here many times of yx issues and PP replied to me with concern for my loss and resolution to my problems.

I put you as part of this vendor selling wortheless products problem. How many of those decomp cams did you sell to people knowing they did not perform as they should? Did you once tell them they may and may not function properly?

Anyone has an issue..my name is Steve Miller and email is blackwoodz@gmail.com if you want a phone number just email me for it. I will be glad to talk anytime.

You are right 500 miles is barely anything but a hell of alot more miles than most people have on there YX 150s. My point was not to say oh wow over 500 miles, my point as well as other members here is to state what type of miles they do have logged on these motors. I don't plan on putting 4000 miles on my X4 motard, it is not my daily driver or a commuter.

Steve like I said support who you would like it makes no diffrence to me I do own two Pitster Pros. and have worked on countless others. I also to the best of my knowledge was the first to dyno the YX 150 in the states and find a jetting solution for the Molkt carb

Syncronized competitive bashing. It is an olympic sport here.

If someone wants to be a manufacturer of cases they should contact "Modern Forge in piney flats TN" and see what they can do for you. They make the cylinders for some of the HD engines. HUGE facility. To get some bearing Home Shopping Network's SE warehouse is across the street. Both buildings are about 12 acres in size.

It is time to move forward with this thread and stop worrying about who came up with what first (we can use the search function for that)

Get on to the fixes.

If someone has a fix post it up. or post it again if you already have.

If someone has a cool engine idea post it up.

If dirtmax wants to issue a recall post it up.

Good luck.
