I had replaced all the original washers for the oil cooler lines with the cooper washer from the hardware for brake lines, well they all leak and I don't dare tighten them anymore. Can I use silicone to help seal it or is there a better solution? What about trying to find alum. washers, maybe they would crush down a little better or even make a gasket to go in between washers? Any ideas would be great, thanks.

Sorry, I meant copper not cooper. The bike is an ssr140tx, and I know it's not from where the lines are crimped cause when I first noticed it I wiped it down to see where it was leaking and it's coming from the copper washers. I'm going to see if I can find new ones, the surfaces all looked good but, all the copper washers are leaking alittle bit so it seems the copper washers aren't sealing it at all, thanks.

Make sure that the bolts aren't bottoming out in the cooler and not crushing the washers hard enough ... If that checks out , the threads might be cocked at an angle giving uneven crush ... Silicon gasket goo is made by this guy ...... and can block up holes ...

You can google it or whatever for specifics. But basicly heating the up red hot and then letting them cool off. It will make them softer. Ive used a mapp torch to do this. Alot of time it depends on how the copper was finished. Ive gotton copper head gaskets and washers for my triumph from different vendors. Some were already done and very soft. some werent and wont crush and seal. Might help and fix your problem as long as the washers are your problem. Why are you replacing them anyways?
