That's what I'm saying! Good Lord, the insurance company reviews these things. If they want to buy the kid a brace that will keep him from breaking his neck, let them do it. I see insurance fraud all the time and this is a long way from it. My office gets letters everyday from attorneys, or should I say ambulance chasers, requesting accident reports where their "client" has been injured. I've seen more than one accident where you had to search for any sign of impact between two vehicles but people are getting carted away on backboards screaming that their neck and back hurts. That is a lot different that someone asking their company if they will pay for a neck brace. They can just say "no" or maybe they will say they will pay 50% of the cost. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have a lot of faith that an insurance company knows how not to get scammed. Give the ins. co. a little credit.

There. I'm over it.

mod or not you are trying to scam the insurance companies and give others reason to do so also.

I will leave this alone as soon as Z pms me or steps in the thread and says to let you scam away.

For all the money you pay for ins. that is the least they can do for you. It saves them money in the end. Just cause your cheap a$$ can't afford ins. Don't be hating, your a dildo.

You guys all need to freaking calm down. This kid is 14 and obviously is not smart enough to scam an insurance company! He has a prescription from his doctor, and his insurance says they will cover it.

So stop bitching! This happens everyday, people get injured and need neck braces, knee braces, whatever it is. And it's not just in Motocross. This happens to all sports players, anyone who is injured. That's the reason you have insurance, they help you out. Just like nelson said, his insurance company would rather pay for the brace than a major spinal surgery. So they said they would cover it damn it!

Now everyone can just help this kid with his real question, the actual purpose of his thread. To get his prescription filled!

Jeeeeezzz

my 2 cents

Everyone is correct here though and I am not attacking the kid at all. This is the reason premiums are so high and health care has gone to **** in this country, people take advantage of the system and try to claim everything on insurance. Eventually it will catch up to us(worse than it already has). I don't blame you for trying though little man, its worth a shot. Worse case scenario, and most likely, they will say no. If you parents don't mind then I say do it, obviously you are on their ins anyway. Its really not his fault at all anyway, its the doc giving out the prescription. Of course he should try to fill it. Be pissed at the lame doc not the kid.

wtf i cant belave i just read all that. but what the hell get off his back he got the dame perciption and his incernce is gonna cover it so what his parents pay a lot of money for that incernce in their life and i bet theyve never used even close to all the money theyve payd in and what if this thing saves his life or a lot of pain and suffering and money they could have kep. i dont exctly say i 100% agree on them paying for safty gear it might be a little much but hey if their willing to why the fack not wouldnt u if the docter gave if to u would u guys just say no to 400 bucks basicly

So when people enter their first race, their insurance company should be standing there, handing out helmets, gloves, boots, chest protectors, leatt braces, bubble wrap, and have a helicopter for every person racing, to prevent all injuries in something we chose to do. No one is making us ride and race, we do it for fun, and only IF you unfortunatly get hurt, they'll help fix you up to do it all over again.

well I hope you are not serious......a kid wanting a expensive brace so he he has the coolest gadget and play with his bike and a guy that requires a brace so he can walk or do his job or even the scooters so they can live a normal life.....I will leave you kids alone do discusss your ways to defraud the insurances and just keep paying my rising premiums and wonder why..

you're logic is so messed up...dont buy the kid a $400 brace that could save him from being paralized or dying, just buy him a $2500 mobility scooter when it happens.

and a leatt brace is just the coooooolest gadget everrrr. if he just wanted a cool gadget why wouldnt he just make them buy him a segway because his feet hurt when he walks?

You need a sport medicine DR it can be done.

This is correct. I completely forgot that I hurt my neck in HS and went to a sports medicine doc simply because I knew him. He worked at a free clinic so I went to get checked out. Long story short he gave me a thing called a cowboy collar, it was made for football players but is a very similar idea to the leatt. I wonder if I still have that thing kicking around somewhere, I never used it.

and your thinking is so much clearer....

I am saying either buy your own equipment like everyone else or do not ride ..... I take it you believe in a national healhcare system too?
