There are so many different combo's to run. Don't go by what other's tell you to run because you may not ride like them.

I can build you a 26 hp engine but I garuantee that you won't like it.

Ask yourself what kind of riding that you do and what combination of power, power delivery and price, then you can make your decision on what engines best for you.

iv always wanted a 20HP motor in a stocker.. haha dood i think when i have money to do that. ill ship my motor out to u

My test bed chassis was a stocker frame for ease of removal compared to a perimeter frame.

20 plus HP in a stock chassis is absolutely rediculous.

can't ride it worth a crap, but everytime you yanked the cable it was a hoot.

He is building a bike for vegas,so I would guess enough power for the start but not to much for the rest of the slot car track.

I would guess that 16 to 17 would be perfect, with good botom

my buddy got the 195+r off pimpindahoes and honestly i was expecting alot more power then it had, kinda a let down almost, still fast but not what i was expecting

He could've had the small cam in the engine or maybe the jetting was off in your area.

Maybe your gearing was different than what Pimp runs.

Most 195+R engines are stupid fast even when stock.

no its my motor he said he ran 16-33 im running 13-37 which should be more power the jetting is perfect

Every time ive ridden a motor with a stock flywheel i havent been impressed. Every since i ran the inner rotor & high output coil bikes with stock flywheels have so much lag it seems like there not pullin hard at all.

dood your right..

Pimp HAs extremly long gearing...

it goes 80+mph.

So what he felt when he rode it was def. did not have the bottom end you desired. If you had stock gearing you would loop it out.

i put 13-37 on it so i would be torquey but it really isnt its not what you would think

yeah thats how i felt about the 178 scut, so i went tb165v2 with inner rotor and it runs like a champ. I was thinking of throwing a stroker at it but the power delivery may change and dont know if it will be for the better or for worse

I want an all around engine and good for vegas. I'm not to worried about money I want something reliable. Hey Dood, what do you think about the 195r and 160 4v? I've had a 195r and loved the power. I'm used to a 60hp 450 so I like the power. I justwant it to be reliable...

13/37 is still freeway gearing. With that kind of gearing you'll still do close to 50mph with a 4 speed.

Think about it. Do you honestly think you go that fast at any track?

Why even have 4th gear if you aren't gonna use it.

There's another thread in hear about gearing that I commented on.

You should read it.

194+R engines (178 with 55mm crank) make power everywhere, especially if you have the right cam and carb. Porting obviously can help too.

The 160 4V are great engines too but a little different riding style because of the top end style power delivery but none the less are still hella fast.

With both engines making a ton of power ( 194+R makes just a tad more than the 4V ), by the time you make 20+ hp, it's up to the chassis geometry and your riding ability to handle it.

Vegas isn't all about power. You have to be able to get it to the ground and hooked up.

Gearing, Geometry, Engine, Carburation. At vegas it all comes into play.

I can help ya.

As for reliability. They both are about the same if assembled right. Just know that the 4V is more expensive to maintain though because of the valves.

For a tip top race engine you can get about 20 or so hours out of them with Maximum HP but if you just toss them together, I know people with 50+ hours on them and still going.

Hope this answer's your questions.
