I recently bought a stock KLX 110. I got a Fox Float shock and now need to do something to the front. A friend of mine has the same shock and BBR damping rods in the front with heavier oil and the stock springs. I am about 150 pounds and his setup seems to feel pretty good. What are some advantages and/or disadvantages between stock springs, damping rods, and heavier oil vs. maybe Two Brothers Mild springs, damping rods, and lighter oil? Thanks

If you only weigh 150 you could get away with heavier oil I would imagine...stiffer springs will give you alot less give...more for the heavy hitters..but the one stiff spring is a good Idea also never tried but sure it would work too..

Oil weight is to control the speed of the forks. You can vary oil height to adjust the effective spring rate slightly, but you don't change the weight to account for a few too many Christmas cookies over holidays. : )

Play with the springs, get the rate where you want it, then tune the fork rebound and compression speed by playing with the oil weight.

i could be mistaken.. and i have been before.. oil does not have anything to do with spring rate but more with the valving. the lighter the oil, the faster is goes through the valve, the heavier the oil the slower.

so if you are a heavier guy you need heavier oil unless you change the valving.
