Hi, I'm Tim from Stockbridge, GA. That's about 20 miles south of Atlanta. I'm 50 y.o. and have been riding since I was a kid. Started on my brothers fullsize Honda 50 when I could sit on the seat and just reach the pegs. I'd ride around and around the house until I'd run out of gas and fall over. Run in the house and beg for more gas. I soon learned to pull alongside the carport where I could plant a foot on the concrete and get on and off by myself. Learned to make good starts that way too. It was a oneshot deal afterall. Make it or fall, then have to go beg Dad or my brother to get me started off, AGAIN. Today I ride a '03 FZ1 and have put just under 54,000 miles on so far. I ordered a pitsterpro X4 Ltd Motard a couple weeks ago and am still (not so patiently) waiting for it to be delivered. I already have a few friends doing the mini trackdays and can't wait to get started. I am anticipating alot of fun.

FZ1..nice ride...I have a 03 R1 ..not as comfortable as yours and a little more of a bucking bronc

I love the R1. The FZ1 is probably the best bike I've ever owned in terms of being satisfied with it. As you said it's comfy enough to ride all day and has enough power to get you in trouble (= fun). As much as I'd love to have an R1, I think I made the right choice for me.

sometimes I wish I had boughht one...I have matching limited R1 & R6....I like the R6...it is plenty quick....but the one I have been riding most lately is my 08WR250X motard...that thing is waaaaaay kool.....puts a big smile on this 40+yo

Cool, that bike is awesome. How is the power on that thing? I thought about one myself before ordering the mini, but was concerned whether it would be enough to get around on the street.

it is just ok stock...I put a few things on it and it should be running around 32hp...not bad for a small bore 4stroke that ya do not have to touch the valves on till 26k miles

I used to go back & forth between my ZX11 and GSX-R750/1340. That rack was fine, for about 10 miles at a time. The "sofa" made the 225 mile trip up north regularly. 2 hours 10 minutes was my best time;)

Haha, yep I can still do 10-15 hr days on the FZ1. On some of the more exotic bikes you think you'd love I've almost had to pull over on the test ride, lol. Trying to twist your neck around to watch the traffic light from an MV Augusta was all I needed to know I really didn't want that afterall.

ooooo but doesn't the name MV Augusta have some heritage

I have to laugh. MV's, Ducs, hell yea. I have some friends that have them, and everytime we talk about hitting the mountains it's I'll trailer up and meet here or there. I just shake my head. I have to ask them Why don't you buy a bike you can friggin ride? Don't get me wrong I love them, but living with them is another story. There has been a time or two while railing in the mountains I've thought I wish I had clipons, but then riding home I'm thinking I'm glad I don't have clipons. Hehehe.

Cool I have a WR250R, slow but a lot of fun.
