I currently run an 88 superstock, who would you recommend sending a stock head to be ported? I was reading about lahaye but didn't know much results of his jobs. I also heard of precision racing components and crower. Any recommendations or comments? Much help is appreciated! And please try to comment only if you have had one of these places do yours or know someone that you would trust for their opinion. 8)

Only had experience with one of those three. After taking the recommendations by many people on this message board I got a ported head from PRC. It was a total piece of crap!! A $300 paper weight. So I guess I can't recommend them. Maybe I just got a bad one? Mark at AHP seems to do a pretty nice job. Anybody got pics of Crowers or Lahayes work??

i have a lahaye one and it rips...i think the prices vary from like 75-150, it will only take them a couple days for them to do it, and then theres shipping there and back..

manwhore if you guys do porting... then why did you take it to crower to port it? or am i mistaken?
you are mistaken the only work that i do not do myslf is grind cams and run a dyno. The only things done at Crower are they grind me cams and we test on there dyno. I do all my own machine work and porting. I have been doing it for 10 years now since i was 16 and i did to college and i do have a degree in engineering. If i did NOT do my own porting the only people that i would trust that i have seen good work is Crower.
