alright so i got my flywheel off and removed the stock stator from my sikk mx 125 motor. when removing the stock stator, i ruined it. I was attempting to install the re-wrapped xr50 stator that i have in order to run my baja designs kit. the two stators have completely different mounting styles and i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how i can make this work.

thanks

thats the plate that fits around the crank right? that was my first assumption but if i remove that plate that is on there, what is directly behind it? since it looks like there is a seal on the there im assuming oil will come out? thanks

ps. ill have pics of the problem later today, gotta be in class til 2:30

Are there any pictures on ebay of what you bought? FYI...I purchases a chinese stator from ebay and they sent me the wrong one and it took weeks until I could convince them otherwise. If the stator they sent you does not have the two mounting holes and backing plate like you have, you definitely didn't get the right thing.

the stator that i have is an oem xr50 stator. the motor is a chinese sikk mx 125. the stator has the two mounting holes in the center but the mounting plate on the bike does not. it has 4 total mounting holes, two on each halve of the mounting plate. kinda hard to describe ill get pics later today

I know what you mean now. The wiring coming out should be relatively close. The problem will be the clearance between the honda version and the chinese flywheel.

You mount the new one on just like any other, but my guess is that you are going to have flywheel clearance issues in that the honda set is slightly smaller.

Just mount it on and see. Does your chinese flywheel fit over the Honda stator widings? If it does it may work just fine.

sorry if i worded it wrong before. there are no threaded holes on the stator mounting plate for the honda stator to mount to. it looks as if the honda stator will never work with the current configuration. also, i have an xr50 flywheel that i just got which i plan to use with the xr stator.

thanks for you help

From what I am gathering here, I think Alex has this type stator assembly on his Sikk engine:

The difficulty with fitment of the XR/CRF50 stator that Alex has is simply because he has only the stator, shown here:

I'm guessing that you don't have the stator plate, just the stator, and because of the different style, there is no way to mount the XR stator to the Chinese stator plate. Basically, you need an XR50 stator plate to mount the rewound stator.

for removal and installation of the phillip screw for the stator plate you're going to want to utilize the services of an impact driver(not a air impact)

they are lefty loosy righty tighty...but they on on there like a bish. and using a regular screwdriver seems to not work well. you need to apply lots of downward force and twist at the same time.

to get thoughs screws out i got a end that fits on a rachet that the scredriver tips fit in and pushd rilly hard on the top of the rachet with one hand the cranked with the other and they came out pritty easy thats was after a half hr of trying with every thing else lol

ok cool thanks a lot. the new plate and hardware should be here on monday. i got one of the screws out with a regular screwdriver but the other will not budge. impact driver it is!

when you install them make sure you have them good and tight because that is an oring surface and it might leak if not tight enough.

Also there are or should be 2 orings on the back side of the plate that fit in a groove around the screw hole. Make sure they are back in there and not floating around the engine.

Hope this helps.

ok i definitely be careful. i ordered new o rings and everything to so hopefully it all goes together nicely. also on a side note, just ordered street tires for it, 3.5x10 for the back, and a 3x10 for the front, should be pretty cool lookin and ride nicely as well.

thanks for all the help
