It's actually a 108 motor and overseas (europe) they are building those up to some impressive HP numbers, and they are cheap. The 108 is just as fast as the Zong 124 motor.

I'll dig up some more information and post on this later.

These motors are great for Hp for what they are . the head is a great choice but the 8hp for a 108 cc is a little to low for what most people on here need it for. remember a 108 cc in MX racing puts you in a open class and 8 ponys won't get you to the front of the pack . 8 ponys in a 88/86 class is much more understandble and would be a better choice so I would suggest 86cc stroker or TB 88cc kit first.

another thing these are scooter motors they are set up for the road ( now for what z88r would use a motor for these would be great) the trannys are not that durable for MX and have problems with trannys loosing gears . they also use such a wide gear ratio its so wide they become hard to manage on a MX track you end up shifting constenly.the clutch comes off the crank shaft so you can not start in in gear . parts for this motor are hard to find since not everything is Honda compatible . the cams are bearing type but the cam has a press on fitting unlike a XR70 head or

XR50 head so cams need to be ordered from the UK if you want to hop it up.

overall my oppinion is they are fine for the guy who just puts around or road races but for MX they would not be my choice there much better choices out there and most prices are pretty resonable.

PS. by the way 8hp is not the true hp its 6.5 with a 22/24mm carb

I think a happy medium would be a healthy 105 . much better for both MX and street run a E-22 or HRC head you will get great power across the board and then you just have to gear for whatever you plan on racing. talk to Oldschool he runs one it works awsome .

The Zongshin motor is cool but to mod it is a pain in the butt stick with Honda compatible stuff.

for you guys who might wonder how Hp ratings are done the 2 types are Hp measured off the output shaft ( front sprocket ) and BHP measured at the rear wheel these are extremaly differant ratings the output shaft Hp will always be much higher than BHP.

when we talk about Hp we should state whether it is output shaft or BHP.

Dont forget the manual clutch, talk about holeshots and corner speed. And seriously, add some wings and I bet it really would take off lol.
