Hi everyone!! I need a little help on the wiring of my ZB. Actually it is more a theoretical question, since i haven't run the engine yet, regarding the tail light and the speedo light. Following the wiring diagram attached, i found in this forum, it is shown that the speedo light connects to the yellow wire coming from the stator, that passes through the rectifier, and the tail light connects to the black wire, that is connected to the turn signal relay, which connects to a brown wire at the tail light. My question is, if they are both connected in this way, won't they be always on?? Since none of them passes through the hi-low switch, how do they are supposed to be on, only when you turn on the front lights?? Hope someone can help me!!! I can provide
photos with the motorbike wires if needed.

I totally agree with you, if i follow the wiring diagram. But is this how it should be? Tail light and meter light are always on, when you are riding the bike, even at daytime?? Shouldn't they light up when the front light is on? Maybe someone with an unmodified ZB can help with that. Those two lights come on once you start the engine, or once you turn on the lights? Thanks....

In some countries (like the USA) on a motorcycle, the headlight, tail light, and dash lights are on whenever the bike is running. Many states have laws that say that the tail light must illuminate even with the engine off, which is why its run off of battery power.

Its not uncommon for a manufacturer to only make 1 version of a bike that conforms to the laws in all countries its sold.

yup, that law exists so if you break down on the road at night you can leave your tail light on for visibility while you wait for help to arrive.
