Anybody out there set up a Z50r for more travel for motocross use?

I'm trying to build my 92 Z into a supermoto bike. Right now i just have

a crf front end on it with plus ones and wrp rim.eventually i'll put my bbr's

on it.My problem is in the back. Has anyone used any of the kitaco suspension stuff classic honda sells? Z88R? Any recommendation on swingarm and shock length? Does this stuff hold up to hard use? The rims they sell for Z50's look too wide for knobbies so i'm thinking of using a douglas or skunkworx mag. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Trying to keep this bike a Z50 as much as possible. Thanks :)

G'Day,

would not buy a Kitaco swingarm (rubber bushings) rather go for a Daytona (roller bearings) or the best out there: G-Craft ($pricey$).

you can find alloy swingarms in stock length and up to +16cm and some of the Japanese manufacturers take special orders in case you require a longer swingarm.

standard length to +5cm you can use the original shock length of 280mm but you have to use longer shocks (300-330mm) using the +10cm or longer swingarms.

keep in mind that the +10cm swingarm and longer will have the rear tire interfere with your rear fender or license plate bracket, in case you have installed a fender or L-plate.

Everyone,

Listen to dilligaf, as he has more mini-knowledge in his pinky finger than most of you have in your entire body. He's good people.

Purchase a Daytona swingarm. The only problem is there is no US vendor who carries Daytona stock. This may change in the future, but for now, this is a sad state of affairs...

I run a +8cm on my Honda Monkey with 305mm stocks to clear the rear fender. For a 1992 Z50, I'd run 285mm Daytona (showa) shocks, as you have no rear fender to worry about.

G-craft uses rubber bushings on their dax swingarms, don't know about the Monkey swingarms...

Thanks guys.I think I saw those swingarms on Monkeybike UK.What about the takagawa arms they sell. They appear to have bearing pivots?

The Daytona appears to have needle bearings. Would you order from these people? Or is there another distributor? Thanks.

G'Day,

G-Craft swingarms are a top product IMHO but they use rubber bushings as well in both typ swingarms: Monkey (Z50) / Dax (CT50-70).

Takegawa uses rubber bushings on most alloy swingarms but heard a rumor they going the same route as Daytona (needle bearings) and have a new line with eccentric chain adjuster coming soon.

actually, you can push them shitty rubber bushing out, fabricate a steelsleeve (stainless steel) and install needle / roller bearings.

couple of reliable European vendors listed below supplying to the street bike crowd (Dax/Monkey):
