All,

Is there a way to disassemble the damper portion of the rear shocks? See picture below.

On one of my shocks, the rod part (circled) is stuck and moves up and down only about half an inch.

Why would it be stuck? Is there supposed to be fluid of some sort in there?

Part 4 is permanent assembly not meant to be taken apart and serviced. Not impossible but not designed to be done.

As far as I know there is no damperfluid/oil in the original shocks, as in not much dampening going on when hot.

edit: however they mention leakage:

It was designed to look like a typical dampened shock but is in fact just a “solid” unit. Much like a pogo stick. All spring, no damper. If that portion is moving, I’d imagine the spot welds (or however Honda assembled it) have broken. You could just a bead of weld around it to keep it in place. There is no worry about fluids inside.
