Ive been looking at getting another grom or a bike similar for my gf to ride with me since I cant keep her off the grom lol. Anyway here is what i found when looking on the local CL:
-stock ysr50 asking $1500. Not to big on the idea of stoch as I dont think it would keep up well with the grom
-2 modded ysr50 $2000 each or $3500 for the pair:
1) has yz85 engine. Probably really aggressive and would be hard for the gf to ride(newbie) but would be hoot to romp on a cart track
2) has dr200 engine, probably fun too but would be a good comparison to the grom as far as easy to ride and I am familiar with engine too as I have 97 dr200, plus electric start

Anyway do any of these sound like good deals? I am not familiar with the ysr50 values(clean on ebay seem to go for $3k+ but these all look to be fair condition, not perfect by any means)

you can easily pick her up a grom for 2500-3000

I think if I picked one of these up id probably ride it and she would ride the grom. Yea, I may just pick up another grom but here arent many and they usually are closer to 3000 for a stock 14 and I dont really want to spend more than 2000 a the moment. If I dont find find one for a deal in a few months Ill just pick up another and just pay the extra for a clean grom.

I did think about that option. But if i go with a knockoff there is a clone of the grom out that is about $1700 delivered and I am following reviews of a few, so far they look ok, just down on power from the grom and still carbed, no FI.
