I am hopping up the suspension on my xr75.

It currently has a 1983 cr80 fron tend going on it.

I am looking to see what the longest shock are that I can fit with a DG replica swingarm

Has anyone done a similar mod and have you any suggestions for guidance etc.

Sit it on a stand with the front tire on the ground and chassis at the right attitude, no shocks. Measure what you need to span the gap. 13.5 was the DG-advised length in the day, but your longer forks will likely work better with 14-14.5's.

Thank you for that.

With the DG swinger it would appear to measure at max 13.5 inches (340mm) before the frame gets in the way at the lowest point ...so those are the shocks I will be heading for.



Other than Alex at XR Miniracer is anyone doing hop up engine parts for the XR75? I am after a hi-lift cam?

Did you "Turtle" the upper shock mounts?
