I didn't hone the cylinder. Thought I could get by without. The cyl looked new and measured well in spec.Was the cylinder honed before install of new rings and piston? What was piston to cylinder wall clearance?
The old piston and rings were at the end of their wear tolerance and compression was low ~90, but no smoke.
The new piston and rings improved the wall clearance and is now in spec. Compression went up with the new piston and rings to about ~120.
Will this improve with wear? Or is my only option to drop the engine and pull the top end again?
